Graduation Appeal

Honors graduation requirements can be found here. If you have completed all your honors requirements and have a institutional GPA of at least a 3.0 (for students who started in honors prior to Fall 2025) or institutional GPA of 3.2 (for students who started in honors in Fall 2025 and beyond), please visit our graduation checklist linked here. If you do not meet any of these honors requirements and would like to make an appeal, please complete this form.

Academic Appeal

Students who have been on honors academic probation for one year and wish to retain their honors cohort code must complete this form. Continued probation is contingent upon meeting honors progression standards, which include completing at least one honors course per academic year (ideally two per year, or one per semester) or demonstrating reasonable progress toward the eight required honors experiences within the four-year graduation timeline. Students must also maintain a minimum institutional GPA of 3.0 if admitted to honors prior to Fall 2025, or 3.2 if admitted to honors in Fall 2025 or later.

Medallion Ceremony Appeal 

If you intend to participate in the medallion ceremony during a different term than your UM graduation, please complete this form for review by Dean Nichols.

Transfer Credit Appeal

If you want to use previously earned honors credits from a different institution to count toward specific DHC honors requirements this form should be completed for review by Dean Nichols.

Capstone Presentation Appeal

If you want to present your capstone after graduation (a public presentation is a required component of the honors capstone project), this form should be completed for review by Dean Nichols.
